Meaning of Analytical

A word from the Greek language came to Spanish as analytical. This adjective is used to describe what is related to analysis: reflection on something or the separation of the elements of a thing to discover how it is composed.

According to DigoPaul, an analytical study, in this way, is developed by analyzing each part of a whole in isolation and then linking them together to access the knowledge of the whole in question. In this way, causalities are used to understand the associations of the elements and to understand the global functioning of the object of study.

The opposite may be a cursory study, simply taking into account the most obvious features of an object to reach a conclusion. It goes without saying that the need to resort to one type of study or another depends on each case; While to choose the mouse pad, we just need to touch it and check its texture, the same does not happen when comparing several graphics cards, since in this case it is recommended to analyze each of its components to find the most efficient and balanced one.

It is known as transcript to the document that records the grades that a student has obtained in career development. This document, which is usually issued by the educational authorities, includes the detail of each subject (also called subject) approved and mentions the grade achieved by the student. The presentation of the secondary school analytical certificate, for example, may be a requirement to enroll in a college.

The idea of analytical expression, on the other hand, is used in the field of mathematics to name the series of symbols and numbers that are linked together by the signs of operations. It is the construction of an algebraic expression that gives us the possibility of solving the unknowns by giving the variable x different values, and carrying out algebraic operations.

An example of a mathematical function expressed according to its analytical representation is the following: F (x) = -2 x ^ 2 + 2 x + 12, where the symbol ^ followed by the number 2 indicates that the preceding x must be squared. The solutions of this equation are the roots of the function itself, and they are set out below: x1 = -2; x2 = 3.

The qualification of analytic or analytical also applies to languages (when their grammatical and lexical components are isolated from each other), to a specialty of chemistry (oriented to the analysis of the composition of materials) and to a branch of geometry (which investigates geometric figures through algebra and mathematical analysis in a coordinate system).

Finally, analytical is the one who usually carries out deep analysis: “My son is a very analytical young man, he is always looking for the causes of things. ” In this case, the adjective is not always taken in a positive way by those around the person it modifies: “I can’t stand you being so analytical and that you don’t allow life to flow spontaneously”, “It’s so analytical that you take it spend hours thinking before acting, and that delays us all.

Being analytical, in this case, is the opposite of acting impulsively: it consists of thinking carefully about each potential consequence of our actions before proceeding, or about all the possible characteristics of a situation or person. For example, while an impulsive individual may accept an invitation to a cruise without thinking twice, someone analytical is likely to analyze the safety of the ship, the temperature it will have to withstand on board and the trajectory of the company that organizes the event, among others. many things, before giving your answer.
